Making a Tech roadmap

A technology roadmap is a display document or diagram that depicts a person's strategy for adopting new technologies. Technology roadmaps are developed to aid in planning and strategy while preventing costly errors. If applicable, a technology roadmap should also include a plan for achieving short- and long-term digital transformation objectives.

Attributes of a Tech Roadmap

• This helps promotes self-awareness.
• It gives success a framework and a direction in which to keep moving forward.
• Gives you insight into the abilities and resources you'll need to achieve your goals.
• It becomes simpler to approach strangers for help while on your journey

Creating a road map

Before thinking about starting a career in technology, it is essential that you as an individual understand the two sorts of tech positions. The tech positions are as follows:

• Roles for developers, such as software developers Cloud Engineers, and mobile app developers.
• Non-developer positions, such as those in operations, HR, product management, data analysis, Customer Sucess, etc.

Knowing your capabilities and strengths.

• Determine your unique abilities, including hard and soft skills that are transferable, and work on your weaker areas.
• Make a list and plan for the skills you want to gain in the future.

Transitioning

Discover what interests you. Take a crash course or learn the fundamentals. Try a side project or sign up to help with one. Participate in a community. Hire or follow a mentor. Expand on fresh information and start submitting job applications.

Differentiating myself and getting publicity to advance my career

• In the marketplace, take initiative rather than react.

Personal Growth and development

By getting engaged in my community, attending tech events, networking, volunteering, signing up for newsletters and reading tech news on reliable websites like Techcabal, Techpoint, Techcrunch, etc., I hope to enhance my career in technology. Knowing that life is comprised of stages, I don't want to overstretch myself since this could cause a significant breakdown and lower my productivity. As an alternative, I strive for personal development and education so that I may go from what I enjoy and am good at to what I can sell and what the world needs. (Great quote from the Japanese word "IKIGAI,") As I advance, it's also advisable to study more because technology is always changing. I intend to grow as a person by registering for programs on trustworthy websites like Coursera, Udacity, Udemy, Google, Freecodecamp, Codeacademy, etc.
